About the JOIN Rebrand
In the class ‘Studio 5’ students are given the opportunity to pitch rebrand proposals to local non-profits and micro-businesses who have come to PSU to get quality design work done by students. I saw this class as an opportunity to work collaboratively with designers I admired. As the only team of designers presenting Robby Day, Leland Vaughan and myself were chosen to rebrand the non-profit JOIN. We retold their story of hope and hard work with a colorful yet professional brand system which we applied to a wide scope of deliverables, exterior way finding and their most recent annual report.
The opportunity to work on a team was game changing for me. Being able to work together to do more than we could do alone was one of the most important things I learned in school and is something I hope to continue to do throughout my career. In addition, being able to wear many hats like production design, creative direction, print coordination and client relations was extremely valuable to me in my education as a designer.
